In 2017, this building became only the second in the Czech Republic to receive BREEAM’s highest “Outstanding” accreditation – the first having been another Prologis facility! Building DC3 received a remarkable overall BREEAM score of 88.3% by focusing on energy efficiency, low operating costs, and a healthy indoor environment for users. All design decisions were influenced by energy modelling, while a thermal comfort study was undertaken to optimise the wellbeing of building occupants. Users enjoy plenty of fresh air and natural light through openable windows, while construction materials were chosen for minimal pollution and noise levels, while taking into account life-cycle cost analyses. Through modern sanitation systems including a rainwater recovery system, daily consumption of drinking water is reduced by 83.5% and primary energy consumption is reduced by 54%.
