For one day, a mobile health screening bus set up shop at Prologis Park Budapest-Gyál, where the logistics real estate company organized free medical check-ups for employees of its customers based in the park. Participants could register for three types of tests: dermatoscopic mole screening, a fitness assessment using an InBody device, and a heart stress test. Almost 100 people signed up for the examinations carried out by MediTeam doctors — filling every available appointment slot for the day.

Research shows that very few people in Hungary attend regular health screenings, even though early detection greatly increases the chances of successful treatment. For example, the number of skin cancer cases in Hungary has doubled in the past two decades, and one in four patients still seek medical help too late. The risk of the disease increases with age, but it also affects people under 30 and is now among the most common cancers in young men and women. Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death in Hungary, yet participation in related risk screenings is low — meaning their full potential is far from realized.

The health of those working in our parks is extremely important to us,” said Lóránd Gárdonyi, Director of Property Management and Customer Experience at Prologis Hungary. “We know how hard it can be for people to find the time for a check-up, so we brought the opportunity directly to our customers’ employees. Our goal is to highlight the importance of preventive care and help make health screenings a normal part of everyday life. It was fantastic to see so many people take part, and we’re grateful to the medical team for their dedicated work.”

This special day was not only about health and community but also about giving back. Alongside the free screenings, Prologis organized a collection drive — participants were invited to bring a new or gently used plush toy, which the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service will distribute to children in need.

I think this was a wonderful initiative,” said Réka Szegedi, Recruitment Specialist at CooperVision. “Our colleagues brought plenty of stuffed animals, and we’re delighted they’ll go to children who will truly enjoy them.

The screenings were carried out smoothly, requiring only a short and simple break from the working day.

I’d like to thank Prologis for organizing health and wellness programs in our park,” Szegedi added. “Today I took part in two screenings — the fitness assessment and the melanoma check. It’s important that our employees can take advantage of such opportunities during working hours. They’re always grateful for initiatives like this and often suggest what kind of screenings they’d like to see next.”

Promoting health and well-being is part of Prologis’ broader effort to make its parks not just workplaces, but thriving communities.

Our PARKlife initiative is all about offering more than a place to work — we want to build spaces where people can connect and thrive,” said Gárdonyi. “We provide time, space, and opportunities for communities to come together in our parks — whether at outdoor events, sports activities, or health programs like this one. With these efforts, we aim to support the physical well-being of our partners and their employees, and encourage everyone working in our parks to stay active and live a vibrant community life.”
