Sonko continues production at Prologis Park Wrocław
Corporate News
Prologis, a global leader in logistics real estate, has extended its lease agreement with Sonko, one of Poland’s most recognizable brands in the cereal products category. At Prologis Park Wrocław, Sonko will continue to occupy 22,000 m² of production and logistics space, combining the production of rice and corn cakes with the distribution of products to consumers in Poland and numerous international markets. The decision confirms the importance of the Wrocław location as an efficient operational base for Sonko and strengthens a partnership between the two companies that dates back to 2007.
For 37 years, Sonko has been expanding its portfolio of light snacks and cereal products, building a strong market position as a producer of rice cakes, crispbread and rice, among other products. By choosing to remain at Prologis Park Wrocław, the company can maintain continuity of production and distribution in a location that is well integrated into its supply chain. This is particularly important in the context of Sonko’s long-term growth. Since its change of ownership in 2024, Sonko has operated as part of the international Euricom Group while retaining its Polish roots. Its Lower Silesian facility provides the company with a stable base for further expansion and for efficiently serving retail partners in Poland and abroad.
“What appears to consumers as a simple, light snack requires carefully planned production processes, rigorous quality control and efficient logistics behind the scenes. At Prologis Park Wrocław, we bring production and logistics together under one roof. This is where the entire production cycle of rice and corn cakes takes place — from receiving raw materials, through packaging and storage, to shipping finished products to retail partners. After almost 20 years at this location, we are staying with a proven address and a partner that understands the needs of our business,” said Jarosław Pieniak, Member of the Management Board at Sonko.
A partnership that goes beyond leasing
Almost two decades of cooperation is a long time in the food business. Over that period, the market and consumer expectations have changed, as have Sonko’s product portfolio and the way the facility operates. Long-term relationships like this show that the right space is only the starting point.
“We are very pleased that Sonko is staying at Prologis Park Wrocław for the years ahead. For us, the foundation of such a lasting partnership is day-to-day cooperation that goes beyond the technical management of logistics parks. Our Facility Management teams stay close to customers: they discuss current needs, coordinate cooperation and look for practical solutions. These conversations translate into concrete actions. In Sonko’s case, we have planned improvements that will enhance the thermal performance of the premises and improve the comfort of the office space,” said Marcin Kruszewski, Leasing Manager at Prologis.
As part of the lease extension, Prologis has planned an extensive modernization program. The works will include the installation of external window blinds to help maintain optimal indoor temperatures, as well as a comprehensive refurbishment of the office area and the replacement of all window joinery with modern profiles offering a lower heat transfer coefficient. The improvements will increase workplace comfort and support greater energy efficiency across the building.
A location that supports daily operations
Prologis Park Wrocław is located in the municipality of Kobierzyce, 15 km from the center of Wrocław, 10 km from the airport and directly next to the A4 motorway. Its location by the Bielany junction provides fast access to the region’s key transport routes: the A4 towards Germany, Kraków and Ukraine; the S5/E261 towards Poznań and Prague; and the S8/E67 towards Warsaw and Vienna. For companies combining production, warehousing and distribution, this means a more efficient supply chain — from receiving goods to shipping products to domestic and international markets. The proximity of public transport stops is also an important advantage, making daily commuting easier for employees.
Prologis Park Wrocław offers numerous parking spaces, two entrance gates and wide maneuvering yards. The buildings are designed to support demanding production and logistics operations, offering features such as 10 m clear height, floor load capacity of 5 t/m², an ESFR sprinkler system, external LED lighting and remote utility meter reading. The park also meets the needs of companies operating in food logistics, including operations requiring cold storage.
Following the lease extension with Sonko, approximately 7,000 m² of available space remains at Prologis Park Wrocław, including office facilities.
