Ethical Business Award 2020 for Prologis

Prologis has been awarded the title of Ethical Business 2020! This award is the perfect proof that our long-standing commitment to building a transparent, fair, and customer- and employee-centric organization is the right way to go.

The title is granted by business daily Puls Biznesu to companies demonstrating the best business practices, as verified through an audit process by PwC Legal.

“This award is a testament to our leadership within the industry, and a confirmation that our operations extend far beyond the walls and roofs of warehouses. For us, the Ethical Business title is something to be truly proud of – but it also represents an obligation: to persistently work to improve our standards, to passionately share our experience, to promote an ethical approach to business, and to inspire others,” says Pawel Sapek, Senior Vice President and Regional Head for Central Europe.

The competition saw a list of candidates subjected to a detailed assessment of the following criteria: the principles of fair competition in place at the company; active work towards increasing transparency; cooperation with business partners based on mutual respect and understanding; and relationship building with employees and local communities.

The jury recognized our commitment to projects run for the benefit of our employees, their families and local communities. As part of our pan-European “Recharge” program run by external experts, we try to help our employees stay in harmony and regain energy after months of home-working. Another example is a special program dedicated to employees and their families, which provides access to independent advisers who can help in various ways: from offering psychological support and helping to find child care, to financial or legal consultancy. Our actions are focused on providing real, tangible support – employees were provided with funds for buying the necessary equipment for home offices, and when schools and preschools were closed we covered the costs of child care. We also offered loans for those whose life partners lost their jobs due to the pandemic.

In this difficult time, we also wanted to help those most in need right here in local communities. With our European “Dock Doors of Giving” campaign, which ran throughout December, we supported 91 local organizations with material and financial aid – in total, we donated over EUR 275,000 to those in need. In Poland we supported – among others – the Empowering Children Foundation, the “Pozytywni w Tęczy” Union, and the “Tęcza” Association of Parents and Friends of Blind and Visually Impaired Children. More participants than expected took part in the Mountain Challenge, in which our employees “climbed the Rysy peak” (well technically, they had to climb a total of 834 floors in any location). This initiative allowed us to donate funds for the rehabilitation of a little boy.

The “Ethical Business” award is the only initiative of its kind in Poland, promoting companies with exemplary business practices. The award has been presented for 7 years by the business daily Puls Biznesu based on a rigorous set of criteria covering ethics, transparency, and initiatives for stakeholder groups, all subject to substantive verification by PwC Legal.
