An educational story available free of charge in five languages: Polish, Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, and English.

Two days before St. Nicholas Day, the Zaczytani.org Foundation and Prologis, the global leader in logistics real estate, premiered “Big Deal!” — a heartwarming educational fairy tale about teamwork, empathy, and trust.

The story follows a group of elves who discover that true strength doesn’t come from perfection or individual brilliance, but from cooperation and kindness. Available as both an audiobook and an e-book, “Big Deal!” can be streamed or downloaded free of charge from popular platforms.

A Story That Nurtures Emotional Growth

Created to support children’s emotional development, “Big Deal!” is designed for children aged 7–9 and serves as a valuable resource for parents, teachers, and psychologists in therapeutic, educational, and relaxation settings.

The fairy tale premiered simultaneously in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary — four Central European countries where Prologis manages more than 5 million square meters of modern warehouse and production space.

What’s the Story About?

In a busy elf town preparing for Christmas, a team of helpers receives a special assignment: to pack an enormous gift — a giant teddy bear long wished for by a child. Olaf, a confident and somewhat arrogant elf, decides to take on the challenge alone. His “I can do it myself” attitude quickly leads to chaos — the oversized package doesn’t fit through the door, and the magical glitter that once solved such problems is no longer in use.

Only after a heartfelt talk with his mentor, Gustav, does Olaf realize that even the best plan means little without cooperation. Reunited as a team, the elves find a creative solution — they lift the entire warehouse to deliver the present on time. Their boss, impressed by their teamwork, entrusts them with a new mission: leading the Department of Difficult and Even More Difficult Gifts.

The phrase “Big Deal!” appears throughout the story — from Olaf’s initial arrogance to the final message: “The most important thing is cooperation.”

Bibliotherapy Against Loneliness

According to UNICEF, one in three teenagers in Europe feels lonely. The rise of loneliness, weakened relationships, and difficulties in teamwork pose growing social challenges — especially among children who increasingly retreat into the virtual world.

Bibliotherapy — the use of literature and metaphor to explore emotions — helps children talk about difficult feelings and develop social skills in a safe and creative way. Fairy tales created by the Zaczytani.org Foundation are now widely used as educational tools by parents, teachers, and volunteers in schools, libraries, and community centers.

Agnieszka Machnicka, President of the Zaczytani.org Foundation:
“‘Big Deal!’ humorously yet meaningfully shows that real strength is born when we work together. It’s not just a story about elves — it’s a metaphor for the everyday challenges faced by children and adults alike. We want to offer a tool to spark conversations about relationships, respect, and the power of teamwork — values our society needs now more than ever.”

The premiere of “Big Deal!” coincides with two special days:

  • December 5 – International Volunteer Day: the story becomes a new resource for thousands of volunteers conducting educational and creative workshops with children.
  • December 6 – St. Nicholas Day: “Big Deal!” makes the perfect gift for families who want to spend meaningful time together while discussing values.

Partnership with Prologis

The project was created in partnership with Prologis, which actively supports social and educational initiatives across Europe.

Katarzyna Kubicka, Marketing Manager, Central Europe at Prologis said:
“This year, we wanted to offer something more meaningful than a traditional gift. Together with the Zaczytani Foundation, we created the fairy tale ‘Big Deal!’ – a story about the power of cooperation, reminding us that loneliness fades wherever kindness and collective action take its place,” says Katarzyna Kubicka, Marketing Manager Central Europe at Prologis. “It’s a message that feels especially important today, which is why we’re proud to help bring a project to life that reflects our core values. At Prologis, we know that our strength lies in working together. In Central Europe, we manage an extensive portfolio of logistics and production space with just 107 people team. Without outstanding teamwork, that simply wouldn’t be possible,” she adds.

This collaboration with the Zaczytani.org Foundation reflects Prologis’ commitment to responsible business and community engagement. The company runs numerous local and international social initiatives, including its flagship Impact Day — a day when teams in 20 countries worldwide set aside their daily work to support local charities through hands-on volunteering.

The fairy tale “Big Deal!” is available free of charge on the Zaczytani.org Foundation website. It is available in five language versions — Polish, Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, and English — supporting children’s emotional development across Central Europe.
