At Prologis we are committed to promoting healthy lifestyles, and in support of this initiative, in 2014 we established our Prologis Budapest Football Games for our customers in Hungary. September 14 saw the fifth edition of the tournament take place at the recreation area of Prologis Park Budapest-Gyál, where our customers’ dedicated teams put on their football gear and battled it out under sunny September skies. As this year marked the fifth anniversary of the Games, Prologis made sure that the event was packed full of surprises for the guests.

Celebrations had already begun by the invitational phase. We teamed up with famous Hungarian rapper Ganxsta Zolee, a football fan himself, to visit the former champions of the tournament and invite them to the event armed with a bottle of champagne and a signed football.

On the day of the event we raised the professional atmosphere to the next level! The 11 teams made up of 94 players were welcomed by the iconic sports commentator István Hajdú B., who was the ’voice’ of the whole tournament.

Ball control is key for an effective player, and the second surprise guest of the day, the four-time freestyle football world champion Kitti Szász, showed the crowd what it takes to be one with a jaw-dropping performance.

At the end of the day Geodis scored the winning goal, while Inter Cars Hungary and Europapier (alias Papírkutyák) finished in second and third place respectively. After the awards ceremony, Ganxsta Zolee rocked the stage with an exclusive show.

The recreation areas at Prologis parks are designed to support the health and wellbeing of our customers and their employees who work inside the facilities. We want to provide them with various opportunities for leisure activities such as sports, picnics, relaxing, corporate gatherings or even a spot of gardening.

“I am glad to see that our tournament is motivating our customers’ teams to train together, support each other and participate in a day full of sport and fun,” said László Kemenes, senior vice president and country manager, Prologis Hungary. “I would like to thank all the players for their incredible performances, as well as the fans who made this event even more unforgettable.”

Congratulations to the winners of the 2018 tournament. We look forward to meeting all the participants again next year!
