Honeywell, a global manufacturer of a wide range of work optimization technologies and devices, is opening a factory in Prologis Park Chorzów. Pursuant to an agreement concluded at the end of 2020, the plant at the Prologis logistics park will be unique on a European scale, and will produce advanced devices for logistics automation. Operations will begin in April.
“For our new customer, it was vital to have a modern, existing space where they could start operations as soon as possible. We’re glad to be able to fully meet all of Honeywell’s requirements, meaning their operations at Prologis Park Chorzów for the production of state-of-the-art warehouse logistics devices will start in just a few weeks,” emphasizes Piotr Brycki, leasing manager for the Upper Silesia region at Prologis.
The investment is another step forward in the development of Honeywell's operations outside North America. It is also big news for the regional economy - around 100 people will find employment at the factory with an area of 27,000 square meters.
“With our factory in Chorzów, we will be able to effectively expand our local production and supply chain, helping us provide our clients with modern technologies to strengthen their competitiveness on the dynamic e-commerce market. As a local employer, we are also glad that our expansion on the European market will create new jobs in the region,” said Szymon Pudlik Senior Director Programs, Honeywell Intelligrated. Prologis Park Chorzów is an employee-friendly logistics center - as part of Prologis’ PARKLife program, green areas for relaxation and open-air recreation have been created, and easy access to the workplace is facilitated by a bus stop located within the park.
“Among other reasons, Honeywell chose Prologis Park Chorzów because of its excellent location. The deciding factor was quick access from the plant to the center of Katowice, where the company has its Silesian branch,” says Konrad Lewiński, Director at Industrial Agency, JLL who advised the tenant.
