Spring is approaching, it’s getting greener by the day outside… and things are growing even greener at Prologis!
We take our obligations to protecting the environment very seriously: in 2021, we bought 80% of our energy from suppliers with Guarantees of Origin. Now, by implementing ambitious environmental goals and responding to the needs of our customers, we’re proud to announce the next important step in this journey.
We have decided to exclusively purchase energy generated from renewable energy sources in 2022, via EKO Premium from Tauron. This means that 100% of the energy used in Prologis distribution parks in Poland now comes from renewable energy sources, significantly reducing our carbon footprint and making our parks even greener.
“Our environmental activities have shown for years that it’s possible for us to effectively minimize our impact on the environment. In 2019, we became the first real estate company in the world to be listed on the Dow Jones S&P 100 stock exchange for achieving carbon neutrality in our operations. We haven’t stopped there, though, and now we’re again proving that logistics can be greener. Our next goal is to make our construction processes around the world carbon-neutral by 2025. Our actions are having a real, positive impact on our surroundings, and this motivates us to take on new challenges,” said Paweł Sapek, Prologis Senior Vice-President and Regional Head for Central Europe.
